Introduction to Mapper Desktop (for Geodatabase model)
Overview
The Introduction to Mapper Desktop Course is a five day course designed
to apply basic mapping techniques with the power of the Smart Data Strategies'
Mapper software application. The course will cover all aspects of Mapper.
The class will be instructed by focusing on editing data
models as a whole and how a variety of GIS elements play a role in those data models.
The class will discuss basic editing techniques and be instructed in hands-on labs
working with the GIS elements that comprise the general parcel data model.
The primary goal will be to demonstrate and use GIS techniques in order to maintain an efficient and accurate
parcel data model.
Goals
To learn the basic tools and techniques available to the student through Mapper Desktop
To gain a basic understanding of how to maintain the parcel data model with the tools provided
in Mapper Desktop by editing the elements that make up the parcel data model.
To Perform Parcel Splits/Joins
To Attribute Multiple Ownership to Parcels
To Perform COGO routines
To Import Data from other digital formats
To Digitize in Mapper
To gain a familiarity with topology classes and the tools that allows us to maintain topological
relationships in Mapper Desktop.
Requirements/Prerequisites
Mapper Desktop is designed for the ESRI Geodatabase model only (not Coverage/Librarian format)

Introduction to Mapper Workstation (for Coverage/Librarian format)
Overview
The Introduction to Mapper Workstation Course is a five day course designed
to apply basic mapping techniques with the power of the Smart Data Strategies'
Mapper Workstation software application. Mapper Workstation is designed around the
ESRI Coverage/Librarian data format. The course will cover all aspects of Mapper Workstation.
The class will be instructed by focusing on editing the Coverage parcel data model as a whole and
how a variety of GIS elements play a role in that data models.
The class will discuss basic editing techniques and be instructed in hands-on labs
working with the GIS elements that comprise the general Coverage parcel data model.
The primary goal will be to demonstrate and use GIS techniques in order to maintain an efficient and accurate
Coverage parcel data model.
Goals

Introduction to Analyst
Overview
Analyst training will teach you to use an application that combines
parcel and other map data with associated non-graphic data such
as property, sales, and other assessment data. Analyst training provides
the know-how and the tools necessary for performing simple and advanced queries,
statistical analysis, and reports.
Simple queries are customizable by the user, and might consist of searches on parcel
attributes such as parcel number, owner, address, subdivision, deeds, or any other
common search fields you use frequently, this will also be discussed and
practiced in each class.
Advanced queries will allow you to simultaneously analyze any
of the fields in the database and to use the results of the searches to derive sales ratios
and other customized analysis.
Once the parcel or group of parcels is identified from the database
search, the text data and parcel maps may be viewed on the screen, printed
to hard copy, or used to generate reports. Through the use of thematic
shading of map data and graphs, you can visually review the analysis
results to quickly see the number of occurring results, the influence
location has on the results, and the range of the values derived from
the analysis.
Analyst can be used in a variety of situations, and can be easily customized
to meet your individual needs. For example, with a few easy steps, Analyst
can be converted from a statistical analysis tool to a simple public-counter
query system. In just two days of hands-on training, you should be able
to benefit from all of this functionality in your office!
